2020 Fall Rocky Lacrosse Registration Open

2020 Fall Rocky Lacrosse Registration

Registration for 2020 Fall Rocky Lacrosse is now open!

Fall Season 2020 Safety Protocols

Dear RMHS LAX Parents,

As we move forward with the Fall LAX season, it's important to note our goal is to provide our players with a safe and competitive LAX experience for the Fall Season.  In order to achieve this goal while fulfilling the requirements of US Lacrosse Back to Play and our local safety protocols, we will need to take extra precautions during practices and games.  We are working through the details with the Board and other high schools, as we speak, and will have the details to you very soon.  As a heads up to parents and players, it's important to note that we will not be able to have parents at the games based on the restrictions associated with our current 'state' in Ada County.  If the current state of affairs changes and we can relax restrictions, we will let the parent and players know ASAP.

As part of the protocols we need to follow, we will need each Fall Player to provide the signed COVID waiver to Gary at the first practice along with their Fall payments.  The waiver is attached above for your convenience.

We are working to get SE registration open - we have a few glitches we are working through.  As soon as that is open, we will send a communication to the group ASAP.

Lastly, remember to get your online baseline concussion testing and sports physicals completed and loaded during registration as this is a requirement to play for Freshman, new players, and those with expired baselines and exams.

Please let us know if you have any questions.

Fall 2020 Lacrosse Season

After much discussion and debate, Treasure Valley high school lacrosse programs are excited to announce a 6-game season running from September 12 through October 24, 2020. Team try-outs and organization is Tuesday, August 25 from 6:00 -8:00 pm at Heritage Middle School.

It is important that our boys get back out on the field as soon and as safely as possible. Studies have shown the positive impacts that sports have on the overall health and wellness of teenagers. As long as we follow the CDC and US Lacrosse guidelines for participation, I believe we can offer a great experience for the boys. Players will be assigned a pod of 8-10 players and a coach. This pod will train together for the duration of practice. Small sided games and drills will keep the contact to a minimum. Coaches will wear masks, temperatures will be taken before practice and all players will keep socially distanced. As local and national Covid numbers drop or the state issues different levels and guidelines, we will adapt and change our practice and game plans in an effort to keep the boys and coaches as safe as possible.

Grizzly Select Middle School Program

Grizzly Select is the middle school feeder program for Rocky Mountain High School. The high school coaches and players support the middle school teams and will assist the middle school coaches throughout the season. The Idaho Middle School Lacrosse Association is a lacrosse development association of local youth teams that works with these township based programs by offering high level coaching and playing opportunities to boys 6th to 8th grade.

This league is NOT for beginners; most players have at least one year of organized play experience before joining their township based team.

However, since the TVYLL has cancelled their Fall season, we will have four Intro to Lacrosse clinics for beginners. These clinics will introduce new players to the skills and game play of  boys' lacrosse. We hope this lights a spark and more boys want to play in the Spring 2021 season. We do NOT have extra equipment for loan or rent.

After much discussion and debate, the IMSLA and the coaches are excited to announce a 6-game season starting September 12 and concluding October 24, 2020. Team try-outs and organization is Monday August 31 from 6:30-8 PM at Heritage Middle School.

Our inaugural season this past Spring was very successful and saw high quality coaching lead to excellent individual skills and very competitive games. We plan to continue this success by building on those experiences and continually improving our lacrosse skills. An added bonus this year is that the TVYLL has cancelled their Fall season, so we expect many more players to join our association.

Please spread the news in your neighborhoods, churches and friend groups that we are ready to get back out on the field and are excited to provide these amazing experiences.
